Evangelization & Prayer Corner

You have heard the word “Stewardship” spoken about quite a bit lately. We know it means giving of our Time, Talent and Treasure. Well, did you know that it actually began in the early days of the Church with the Apos-tles and disciples of Christ? They were a loving, sharing, caring communi-ty of people whose goal was to bring Jesus and his teachings to as many people as possible. They did this by sharing all they had – they sold and di-vided their material possessions, (treasure) for the good of the community; they spent their lives caring for one another (time), and they preached the word of God in various capacities by their word and actions (talent).
We are part of that same faith community that began over 2000 years ago. We are called to do the same and act as they did by caring for and helping one another. Treasure does not only mean giving in a monetary way. It also comes in the form of giving of our time and talent. If we look within we will find what it is that God is asking of us and where our talents may lie.
As a big part of Evangelizing we are called to welcome all to our faith community. Our goal is to establish a Welcoming Committee to do just that. All it takes is a little of your time and a willingness to be a warm and welcoming face to all who enter our doors, answer any questions folks may have and provide them with any information they may need. There will be training for all interested.
We are also looking for folks who would be interested in helping us to set up and monitor our Resource Center that we will soon be establishing in Rosary Hall.
So we ask that you take some time this week at home to pray and ask the Lord in what little way you can help our beautiful Parish Family to thrive and grow. All it takes is your willingness to answer the call and join us. You can let us know next weekend how you would like to help spread the Word. Thank you and God Bless!
and no one will know you’re the one asking. Besides, others may be wondering the same and we can all be enlightened together! So please, don’t be afraid to stuff that Question Box in the foyer! Thank you and God bless!

A PILGRIM’S PRAYER
by Thomas Merton

My Lord God,
I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where it will end.
Nor do I really know myself,
and the fact that I think I am following Your will
does not mean that I am actually doing so.
But I believe that the desire to please
You does in fact please You.
And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing.
I hope that I will never do anything apart
from that desire.
And I know that if I do this,
You will lead me by the right road,
though I may know nothing about it.
Therefore will I trust You always though I may seem
lost and in the shadow of death.
I will not fear, for You are ever with me, and You will never leave me to face my perils alone.

Transformation Prayer

Lord, Here I am.
I trust that you have an incredible plan for me.
Transform me. Transform my life.
Everything is on the table.
I make myself 100 percent available to you today.
Transform me into the person you created me to be,
So I can live the life you envisioned for me at the beginning of time.
I hold nothing back.
I am 100 percent available.
Lead me, challenge me, encourage me, and open my eyes to all your possibilities.
Show me what it is you want me to do, and I will do it.
Amen
