Intercessory prayer is the act of praying on behalf of others, and Our Lady of the Rosary offers several options for doing this.
Prayer Line
In 2018 the Evangelization Commission started a prayer line that allows members to submit prayer requests online. If you wish to add the name of someone who is ill, injured, or deceased to our weekly list for intercessory prayer, please send an email to Kathy Gwyn at ourladyoftherosaryprayerline@gmail.com and let her know.
If you are interested in becoming a prayer warrior and praying for the submitted names, please email Kathy Gwyn at ourladyoftherosaryprayerline@gmail.com and let her know. She will add your email address to the group, and you’ll receive a weekly prayer list.
St. Monica’s Ministry
St. Monica’s Ministry is designed to offer prayers and support for individuals who have fallen away from the Catholic Church or lost faith. Their monthly meetings consist of prayer, support, and a book club/discussion. The ministry also plans a special Holy Hour four times/year during the day and evening in English and Spanish to pray for the 40 – 50 names the ministry currently has on file. They also hope to begin a Spanish St. Monica’s Ministry, and prayers are currently being translated. If you would like to join this ministry, contact Diane Kirkbride at diane.kirkbride@yahoo.com
Memorial Candle
At Our Lady of the Rosary, a special candle enthroned in a wreath and placed in the Sanctuary is used to honor deceased friends and family. A plague with the names of the deceased is placed with the candle and changed monthly. Sign-up sheets for the Memorial Candle are available at the church office. A donation is appreciated.
