Parish Leadership
Two primary groups of parishioners work directly with the Pastor in a consultative capacity to provide recommendations for priorities and directions for the parish: the Parish Pastoral Council and the Parish Finance Council.
Parish Pastoral Council
The Parish Pastoral Council is an advisory leadership body, guided by the Holy Spirit and the Gospel, that assists the Pastor and the Parish staff in discerning the needs of the Parish and, by recommending strategic goals and priorities, guides the Parish in fulfilling its mission as a Christian community. It is a consultative body whose policies and decisions require the authority of the pastor to become effective. Its function is established under the Pastoral Council guidelines of the Diocese of Charlotte.
A big part of fulfilling the Council’s mission is listening so they can understand the needs and concerns of our parish members. To that end, you are invited to get to know the council members, learn more about Our Lady of the Rosary, and voice your ideas and thoughts. One way to do this is to respond to the church surveys that the Council distributes at various times to gain your input. Another way is to chat with a Council member after weekend Masses. Just look for anyone wearing their Pastoral Council badge standing in the church Narthex or Rosary Hall and introduce yourself! Feel free to come by and just say hello!
The current members of the Pastoral Council include Kevin Bertelsen, President; Jim Mach, Vice-President; Kathryn McLendon, Secretary; Donaciano Corona, Pat Farner; Maryzabel Hernandez; Orla Kelly-Rajan; Ann Kolb; John Lombardi, Esperanza Rincon; Brandon Shriver; Holly Turnage; and Rev. Sabastian Umouyo.

Parish Finance Council
The Parish Finance Council is comprised of lay parishioners appointed by the Pastor. It does not have decision-making authority but is responsible for providing advice and consultation to the Pastor on the administration of parish finances. The Finance Council is responsible to the Pastor for all financial matters of the parish, including preparation of annual budgets, monitoring of financial records, analysis of financial statements, and presentation of financial data to the parish. It must maintain vigil over the efficient and effective use and management of all parish resources through accepted business standards and values of the Gospel.
Current members of the Parish Finance Council include Brandon Shriver, Chairperson; Orla Kelly-Rajan, Secretary; and Chris Joss.
